Your host for "The Back Tee," Pensacola Native Marty Stanovich returned to his native Pensacola in 1995--after 8 great years at Florida State University (where he received his BA and MA in Classics and History). For more than a decade to follow, he taught history and Humanities at Pensacola Junior (now State) College before making the move to Talk Radio in 2007,Sports Talk Radio in 2009 and joining ESPN Pensacola in 2011. He serves as the Executive Director of The First Tee of Northwest Florida, a Junior Golf Non-Profit of which he was a co-founder in his role as chairman of the Greater Pensacola Junior Golf Association. A graduate of both Leadership Pensacola (2006) and Leadership Santa Rosa (2007), he has served on numerous boards through the years, and was President of the Pensacola Sports Association for 2005-2006. He also worked at various as the P.A. announcer for the Pensacola Ice Pilots, Pensacola Pelicans and the Pensacola Junior College Basketball and Baseball teams, and annually emcees dozens of functions for professional and charitable organizations. A former golf professional, he also served as the Media/Marketing Director for the Champions Tour's Blue Angel's Classic. In addition to hosting the golf program he founded five years ago, he enjoys playing “the greatest game” in his spare time, along with reading (non-fiction), writing and spending time with his wife and best friend, Sheryl and their dogs, Lily (a Basset Hound) and Minnie (a rescued Field Spaniel).
